Longest Without Foodin the World

If you want to know the record holder for the longest without food in the world, then you're in the right place. Knowing how long you can live without water depends on the temperature, what you do during that time (resting vs working under the sun), how much fat you have in your body, and how fast you burn the calories. Without water you can last only about 2 1/2 days at 48 C (120 F) if you spend the whole time resting in the shade, though you could last as long as 12 days if the temperature stays below 21 C (70F). Wouth food however, you can survive for longer depending on the conditions mentioned above, an average of two weeks.

These are some stories of people surviving without food for a long period of time. These stories cannot be authenticated but cannot be dismissed easily either. In 1992 James Scott, made world headlines when he survived in the Nepalese Himalayas without food for 43 days. James maintained a disciplined routine that enabled him to survive freezing, starvation and severe isolation. He was eventually rescued many weeks after experts predicted he would no longer be alive. His story is now recognised as one of the great feats of survival. His unique account provides a moving experience that is both entertaining and motivating.

Giri Bala was said to have lived for 66 years without food and that she lived by employing a certain yoga technique to recharge her body with cosmic energy from the ether, sun, and air only.Devraha Baba is claimed by his followers to have never ate any food all his life.

Fasting girls were not only girls who refused food but who also drew attention to their fast by claiming to have special religious and or magical powers.

Did you know that Inedia which means "fasting" in Latin is the ability to live without food. describe certain saints being able to survive for extended periods of time without food or drink other than the Eucharist. Breatharianism is a related concept, in which believers claim food and possibly water are not necessary, and that humans can be sustained solely by prana (the vital life force in Hinduism), or, according to some, by the energy in sunlight. The terms breatharianism or inedia may also refer to this philosophy practised as a lifestyle in place of the usual diet. While there is not peer-verified scientific support for the claims, some promote the practices of breatharianism as a skill which can be learned through specific techniques.

Did you know:

The highest IQ ever recorded was by Marilyn vos Savant with 228; however that is a mental status ratio IQ (used for children). Adult IQs are measured by standard deviations, in which her adult IQ would compute to about 185, which is lower than famous chess master Bobby Fischer (187). Kim Ung-Yong is a Korean former child prodigy. Kim was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records under "Highest IQ"; the book estimated the boy's score at about 210. Albert Einstein was considered to "only" have an IQ of about 160.

Other contenders would be Leonardo da Vinci, estimated at ~200. Another would be William James Sidis, estimated also at a similar level. Theoretically speaking, 200 is the maximum IQ possible. All the preposterous stories about people with IQs of well over 200 are impossible. In fact, no one has probably ever reached an adult IQ of 200.

Did you know that Guinness retired the category of "Highest IQ" in 1990, after concluding that IQ tests are not reliable enough to designate a single world record holder. So do not expect to find any reliable information about the highest IQ.
